Prece Libertadora (Liberating Prayer in Portuguese)

A special prayer of praise and request to Buddha Shakyamuni sung in Portuguese and composed by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. This prayer is recited by Kadampa Buddhists around the world at the beginning of each teaching and meditation session. It can also be used at any time as an independent practice to develop and increase our faith in Buddha.

For Buddhists, faith in Buddha Shakyamuni is their spiritual life; it is the root of all Dharma realizations. To develop this faith, from the depths of our hearts, we firmly think about the meaning of the words when reciting the prayer.
