Deepen your understanding of the Living Meditation Series
This page relates to the Living Meditation Series, which includes a collection of guided meditations in CD and MP3 formats. Each of the 3 CDs/MP3s also comes with a helpful explanatory booklet with supporting advice and practices.
All the meditations in the series are based on meditations and practices included within Geshe Kelsang Gyatso's books. Here is a brief introduction to the three books that form the basis of the CDs/MP3s.
The first of the three CDs/MP3s in the series, entitled Meditations for Relaxation, is based on the book The New Meditation Handbook; a practical guide to meditation that teaches us how to make ourself and others happy by developing inner peace, and in this way making our lives more meaningful.
The second of the three CDs/MP3s, entitled Meditations for a Clear Mind, is based on the book Clear Light of Bliss. In this book, which is based on Buddha’s Tantric teachings, the author explains clearly and precisely, step-by-step, how we can generate a deeply peaceful and concentrated mind by harnessing the subtle energy system within our body.
The third of the three CDs/MP3s, entitled Meditations for a Kind Heart, is based on the book The New Eight Steps to Happiness. This book provides a detailed and practical explanation of one of Buddhism's best-loved teachings, Eight Verses of Training the Mind, by the great Tibetan Bodhisattva, Langri Tangpa. Clear methods are simply presented for transforming all life's difficulties into valuable spiritual insights, for improving our relationships, and for bringing greater patience, empathy and compassion into our daily life.
