Amitayus 2

The Buddha of Long Life, Wisdom and Merit. By engaging in Amitayus practice we can develop these qualities, which are essential for our spiritual development, and eventually attain the deathless state of enlightenment. We can also use this practice to remove obstacles that endanger the lives of others. Amitayus has a red-coloured body and sits with his two hands in the gesture of meditative equipoise, holding a vase filled with nectar of immortality. Amitayus is the Enjoyment Body aspect of Buddha Amitabha. He is seated on a throne supported by peacocks indicating his connection with Buddha Amitabha.
